Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The school is a leader in Instructional Technology! We offer advanced degrees (MED, EDS, EDD) in Instructional Technology, as well as endorsements in Online Teaching and Personalized Learning. Most of our programs are fully online yet cohort-based, so you can connect and collaborate with your peers. You will love our faculty. They are caring, compassionate, and committed to your success.
Additionally, we are among a few schools in the nation that are authorized to offer ISTE certification preparation to our students. Finally, we are the only university in Georgia to offer a B.S. degree in Learning, Design, and Technology.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology in the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the State of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses on instructional technology topics within the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation and Bagwell College of Education programs.
- Conduct and disseminate research, scholarship and creative activities in the field of instructional technology and innovation.
- Advise M.Ed., Ed.S. and Ed.D. students including serving on Ed.D. dissertation committees.
- Participate in professional service to the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation, Bagwell College of Education, Kennesaw State University, and the field of instructional technology.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate, or foreign equivalent, in Instructional Technology or a closely related field. ABDs close to completion will be considered. Degree must be earned by the start date.
- Experience in effectively teaching on instructional technology topics to aspiring or practicing educators (e.g., university teaching, faculty professional development).
- Experience in effectively designing and/or delivering online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses.
- Experience in conducting scholarly activity in the field of instructional technology at the assistant professor level.
- Experience in instructional technology and innovation within PreK-12 contexts, higher education, or other organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Record of research, publication, scholarship or creative activities within the field of instructional technology.
- Experiences in designing and delivering online or hybrid courses.
- Teaching experience in higher education.
- Success in obtaining external funding.
- Record of collaborative work with colleagues.
- Expertise and/or professional activity in one or more of the following:
- Artificial Intelligence for Education
- Digital Literacy
- Innovative and Emerging Technologies
- Maker Education
- Instructional Design
- Teaching experience in PreK-12 schools.
- Experience as a technology specialist/coach or technology director in PreK-12 schools.
- Licenses, certifications, or activity within professional organizations in the fields of education or instructional technology.
